HOW DID P.UP COME ABOUT?
The idea for P.UP — short for Power Up — was born from a simple belief: that energy should be as accessible and friendly as a loyal companion. I wanted a name that would lift spirits, something easy to remember and full of life.
The name P.UP embodies our mission to power up vehicles, lifestyles, livelihoods, and entire energy ecosystems. Even our mobile chargers are affectionately called “Puppies,” a reminder that sustainable energy can be agile, approachable, and close to everyone and not confined to massive infrastructure or distant corporations.

Our colors tell that story too. Teal represents clean, achievable energy; yellow evokes electricity and speed. The quirky, forward-leaning design captures our spirit; always moving, always partnering, always pushing boundaries for progress.

The spark came in winter 2022, when I was in Korea, launching one of the most celebrated EVs in the world. Within 3 months, 90 percent of customers canceled their orders; not because they disliked the car, but because charging it was inconvenient.
Around the same time, I spoke with policymakers across Asia who were grappling with aging populations and ballooning healthcare costs, while struggling with fuel subsidies and energy imports.
I realized that energy delivery itself needed reinvention — on-demand, low-deployment, high-utilization power that could reach anyone, anywhere.
That was the moment P.UP was born.

We built our first prototype with our own hands and savings, and when it worked, we went straight to OEMs and customers. The response was overwhelming.
Automakers and fleets saw the value instantly.
Soon after, the Singapore Government invited us to pioneer the nation’s Mobile EV Charging Sandbox — the first of its kind.
The journey hasn’t been easy.
Many could not yet imagine a world where power comes to you instead of you going to power. We learned by doing, failing fast, and showing results.
Each success reinforced our conviction that when innovation serves people, belief follows naturally.

Our early believers from Sime Darby BYD, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai,
and Volkswagen to Grab; helped us prove that P.UP’s model works.
With every charge, we’re not only delivering clean energy,
but also demonstrating that sustainability, profitability,
and social mobility can and must in moving forward together.
I’ve always believed that technology should empower, not exclude.

That’s why P.UP integrates inclusive employment, creating opportunities for seniors, persons with disabilities, and low-income communities. When everyone has a stake in the clean-energy transition, progress becomes unstoppable.
Looking ahead, the possibilities are vast.

Energy is the foundation of human progress, and P.UP is building the operating system that will connect it all — from EVs and fleets to grids, data centers, and everyday lives. P.UP won’t just power vehicles; it will become a vital cog in humanity’s sustainable evolution.
My message to our customers, partners, and investors is simple: This is more than a company — it’s a shared journey toward systemic change. Together, we can power a cleaner, smarter, and more equitable future.
“Energy should be as accessible and friendly as a loyal companion.”
“This is more than a company — it’s a shared journey toward systemic change.”
